



Walking home last night, picked up some chips Lays BBQ chips and a strange bacon & turkey pita melt that I had missed that day. I cooked it up in a toaster oven. Delicious, but does anyone know where the ingredients came from? Cheese, Turkey, pork, lettuce, bread. Sounds like a simple sandwich but I wouldn’t know because I have never raised a cow to make cheese, never kept a turkey to eat, never cared for a pig to eat, never grew lettuce or wheat for bread. I’m finding it hard to imagine anything other than a monoculture, linear system lacking in any diversity through the process, all to be thrown away. Just the way Mother Nature intended. That’s where I came in, and felt bad eating it.

Got a photo of the rest of the stuff I forgot to mention about yesterday’s raid, tipped off by Kelsi. Large, Large tank of Protein powder, Natural Peanut Butter (Skippy… natural … ?), 6 apples, head of lettuce. Kelsi informed me that this score might take care of any worries I’ve been having about eating over spring break next week. Collecting the stash.
Are Baby Carrots Sustainable?
No More ... you got it, no more eating. I'm considering giving food up all together and just shipping the food I find over to Niger. Now that I have a 6 months rations of protein supplement, I no longer have to worry about eating for the rest of the semester.


An MS3 workshop was held tonight on Sustainable Timber & Paper Products. Speaker: Jason Shuey, forest products marketing coordinator for the Rainforest Alliance. His initiative seeks to improve linkages between suppliers of Forest Stewardship Council certified forest products and potential users of certified wood and paper. I liked hearing the environmental word from a new source. Was distracted during the workshop when the
