SUSTAINABILITY PHILOSOPHY

Because it is becoming increasingly clear that the decisions we make impact our collective future world, a new approach to development must be pursued that addresses the growing instability of Earth’s natural systems. It is also apparent that we, who know the problem all too well, often produce policies that are unable to address the environmental problem. We understand the solutions, yet we do not implement them in a timely or effective manner.

As a responsible society we must strive to meet our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Achieving sustainability requires the protection of ecosystems from destruction, prudent consumption of natural resources, and an approach to development designed to fulfill the global requirements of environmental issues. We can achieve a better future by gaining a better understanding of environmental problems and the systems that produce those problems.
