Stump

Featured: banana (it looked better before it was shoved in my pocket)

Statement from a friend: "I have a feeling the next time I eat I'm going to subconsciously think of you!"

Food is important, people starve, kids die, parents kill for bread. Meanwhile, it seems like I get a kick out of standing on a soap box about the topic. One hard part about it is trying to pass it on. Trying to influence another persons habits or decisions, when really the change has to be something like self awareness. Whatever the real point of this experiment of living (or dieing) off of the waste-stream, I am not the one to be focusing on. I am only suggesting that we can all be investing our money in better ways. That wasting pennies is equivalent to wasting lives. And that I need you.

Now that I know that people really die of hunger, I feel like I'm responsible to react. Pennies don't matter when a restaurant bill comes to 10, 20, 40 dollars. But one serving of rice in Uganda has the value of five cents. And I don't know, but am willing to bet, that for one of the 25000 kids that die each day of extreme hunger, that one serving of rice would have prolonged death long enough to see one more day. Now all of a sudden my nickle becomes very powerful. And that bottle of water, soda, a candy bar, or a convenience snack has much more impact to me than ever before. When one dollar could save 20 kids. Simple?

You have the ability to save countless numbers of lives. Take a look in your pocket or purse. Speaking of $300 designer purses, all materials are extracted, heated, and cooled. We put a bunch of energy into shipping and travel. Many are blood items, made through the exploitation of human lives. But check out this site Materia to see if you can track the material input of an item. Maybe if we become more aware of the impacts and inputs of the goods we support, we could make more informed decisions. All while pushing the future towards some sort of good.

Yes I said Stump, google it already, it's the hottest new craze that has reached the far corners of western PA's drinking community.
And YES that is a chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream cone posted below. Wow, I cant forget to mention Bert scoring a two hour old, Sheetz double meat chicken salad order number 441. It was a good start on the day for me, with friends on my side. The humor in the story was that Bert said that her book bag is no place for that meat and greens. When the correct statement is that the waste-stream is no places for said salad!Eating eggs in the morning and eggs at night. I remembered to add some of the old pre-cooked bacon with the egg. And found a whole other package of Chips Ahoy cookies that were still covered up in my car. In between egg meals I picked up some macaroni salad, a brownie, cookie, decorative noodles (probably for autism awareness activities), more cookie chunks, and a Turkey sandwich. Then on the way to the Stump, found a chicken sandwich from F-McDonalds.
