Soul Searching

Featured: Size 5/6 womens' high-top Chatties, out soul searching.

On the campus at Slippery Rock University, blue trash bags are being used to designate recycling while black bags are used for municipal waste. Logical. As I was digging in the trash today looking for food, I found a few blue bags with intended recyclables mixed in with the trash. This is not good, meaning that somewhere along the line there is an error in the system. Even if someone had gone out of their way to make a deposit into a recycling container, it didn't make it to the intended destination. I've heard urban legends of this happening on campus but never wanted to believe in it. Now there is no denying it unless I try to make up random excuses for the logic behind messing up the whole blue bag vs. black bag system. Also, I am sorry for those who feel that humanity is hopeless. This is not a good representation of an environmentally friendly community. The infrastructure exists but we just need a competent person to understand the black/blue logic.

Among the waste-stream was a pair of lost souls. I thought if i couldn't find them a home around SRU then I would take them out back and shoot them. Promise that I won't mention anything about what a privilege it is to many people all around the world to own a pair of shoes. I'm thinking of the shoe situation in Lukaya, Uganda. Any suggestions about the shoes?

Easter is tomorrow. Besides the resurrection of the Christ child, that means that there is going to little student activity, thus less food. The day Started and ended like the last few days, hard boiled egg in the morning and fried bacon and egg at night. Good random finds even though the campus was dry. Some ham and cream-cheese wrap items with a strange jelly bread log. I saved both for tomorrow. I found a few pepperoni rolls that I ate immediately. Also found a nice chicken salad and the remnants of a ham/pepper jack sandwich. The salad I stored for tomorrow as well.

    Thank you.

As for the shoes...hmm. Why would someone throw shoes in the trash anyway? Hello, thrift store donation. Regardless, they're now in good hands (yours). I'm sure you'll do something beneficial with them. Oh, and if you decide to take them out back to shoot, plz take pics. kthanksbye.
