No need for me to look to much for food, I've got a stock of junk. But I couldn't pass this muffin for a snack on a break. Listen to this
inspiring story a friend shared with me today while talking about mud pies.
"I had the opportunity to sit and talk with my boss about her trip to Haiti that she just returned from and I was immensely struck by a story she told me. They were eating dinner with the orphans at EBAC Orphanage in Cap Haitien. It is the one and only meal that these children will receive throughout the day. Apparently it was some sort of chicken and rice dish. "While kids from the street are allowed in to play and partake in orphanage activities, there is only enough food for the children who call EBAC home. Shannon, my boss, noticed that many of the children from EBAC were not eating their whole meal, but compiling what was left into a large amount of food. Upon asking what they were doing, one of the children told her they were not eating all of their food from their one meal a day so that they could give it to the children on the street who would not have the chance to eat any meal otherwise that day."I can only imagine how amazing it would be to have witnessed that: a people who are so in tune with themselves and their loving God that even young children can have the heart to worry about those that are less fortunate that they are. Amazing. Truly and utterly amazing.
A very moving story. Expecially when we have more than plenty to eat.
