Fair Trade?

Amy asked about who threw out the entire bagel from this weekend? She wanted a description of the person and there bank account number. I can not answer her. I don't know who threw it away, and can't give a description of what kind of person would just throw that away.
Amy's a runner, maybe she will join in The Run For Water. This site came across the computer when researching for Corporate Sustainability Reporting today.

Pulled out a nice ham and cheese sub on the way to campus. Then picked up 3 bunches of Fair Trade bananas. Bananas are hardly local to Slippery Rock, PA. I'm an avid supporter of making wise choices with your purse. I'm all about empowering farmers, helping communities, or conserving the environment, but bananas come from halfway around the world. Are there better ways we could be investing our money? Besides, the bananas were another case of some consumer having more than they can manage. So even though the people worked with justice, the fruit of their labor ended up on the curb. I wonder what the worker would say or do if he/she new the destination of those bananas?
Gave a friend, Beth, a Bunch. She's a compulsive bread maker, maybe she'll make some banana bread. Would it be a fair trade; a bunch of bananas for banana bread? While on my banana hunt I found a tub of hummus. Beth, Paul, and I discussed the life cycle of left-over bread. We came up with bread-stuffing, or bread-croutons-breading for frying. We wrapped up the chat with composting, then making more bread.

Sweep: fruit cup, caramel cheesecake, ranch Doritos, St. Patties theme sugar cookie, banana nut muffin, and 2 PBJs.
