shNikes

Nike is one of my favorite topics. Food is another. I haven't had much to eat today, but still has been more than many people of the world. Some people are dying as a result of not having enough to eat, while some people are dying because they have to much to eat. I, on the other, other hand, am confused.

Today I ate the Turkey sandwich and the apple that I've been holding on to. When I walked through the Library, I found quality, but not quantity. A chicken finger and cheese stick.

I thank the affluent for Dinner....or was about to, when on my way home I was exploring a pile of pizza boxes and came up with a foil pack with 11 frozen hot-diggity-dogs. The score was kind of a big moment, but I've got a personal grudge against processed food, hot-dogs being on the top of the list. Large scale farming causes air and water pollution, deforestation and depletes fossil-fuel resources. Tracing the components of that hot-dog would be difficult to track down now, but I can imagine. How much water/pesticides/time/fuel went into growing the grain to feed the livestock. How much of the same went into growing (not raising) the livestock. How far did all those resources travel to get to its destination. A hot-dog must grow on trees, because if all my previous questions has real-cost answers then they would not be thrown away.
Thank you America, Good Night.
